New Year is a celebration of a new beginning and a fresh start. We’re supposed to make new goals, leave old patterns and habits behind, and embrace the new year with positivity and optimism. Yet every year, we celebrate New Years’ at the bar, at the club, or a house party getting bombed with liquor. Instead of starting the year fresh and feeling good, we start every year with a wicked hangover, post-drinking anxiety, and even depression and regret. How can we expect to have a positive, successful year if we start it off feeling like garbage?

Try throwing a weed party this New Year’s Eve instead and enjoy a night with good people, good food, and good bud. The best part of all? No headache, no dehydration, no anxiety the next morning! No hangover! Just good vibes, incredible memories, and if your lucky, some good leftovers to wake and bake too! Now that is starting the year off right!
Here’s a guide to throwing a successful Stoner New Year’s Party
BYOB
The first two rules of throwing a successful stoner’s New Year’s Eve are to tell your guests to “bring your own bud” and “bring your own bowl”! In fact, you can make it more interesting by throwing a contest to see who brings the best strain! Because unlike supplying a house full of guests with booze, weed for everyone at your party is expensive.
Also, you won’t want everyone to share a bowl, especially in 2020, with coronavirus running rampant. So, tell them to bring their bowl or bong. Not only this prevents the spread of disease, but it also allows everyone to take a puff whenever they feel the need! No more sitting in a circle waiting for Jimmy, who doesn’t stop talking, to finally take a rip and pass it on!
Food
If there’s one thing that stoners love to do, it’s eating and eating a lot. One way to completely fail at throwing stoners New Year’s Eve party is not to deliver when it comes to grub. Everyone likes to have munchies when stoned and will expect a buffet to pick from. The good news is that the stoners are easy to please and will eat just about anything! Here are some tips to keep your guests happy, high, and full!
Serve lots of Horderves
You don’t need a fancy full course meal to please your guests! Simple appetizers will do just the trick! Stoners love food; they like eating with their hands, so anything from mozzarella sticks to pigs in a blanket will surely wow your guests!
Order Takeout
If you don’t want to deal with the act of cooking and the mess it leaves behind, order some food from your favorite pizzeria or restaurant! Even burgers and fries would do. To make this more fun, have a contest to see who could finish the whole pizza first! It shouldn’t be hard with the right strain!
“Bake” Some Brownies
Even though your guests will be bringing their own herb, it wouldn’t hurt to surprise them with a weed brownie or two! Add a little weed butter into some brownie mix and watch it quickly become the party favorite! You can even try any cannalicious recipe of your choice.
Ganja Games
Every party needs some fun games! Here are some favorites!
Name a band
Start with the letter A and chose a band name that begins with each letter! Can’t think of a band in 30 seconds? Take a toke!
Bong Pong
You guessed it! All the fun of playing beer pong but instead of drinking the cup, you hit the bong!
Don’t Smile!
Everyone takes a hit and doesn’t say a word. The first one to crack a smile, losses and has to take another hit! You’d be surprised how hard this is!
Video Games!
There is nothing like whipping out the old Nintendo and playing Mario Kart and Mario party while Hangin with your best “buds!” Adding your twists like making every player hit the bong when they lose/win a game or match will be fun!
Another excellent video game to play while stoned with your friends is a guitar hero! Not only do you get to shred like a rockstar, you get to smoke like one too!
Binge and Bong
Oh, this one’s among my favs and a must-do.
A stoner party is not complete without binge-watching your favorite tv shows or laughing at your favorite comedy movies! There are plenty of weed-worthy shows and films to choose from! Our favorites are Pineapple Express, Dazed and Confused, Half Baked, Cheech & Chong, Friday, Rick and Morty, and Weeds!
Music
Last but definitely not the least. The music you chose can make or break your party! If people aren’t vibing with your tunes, your party will surely suffer. To avoid this, create a playlist beforehand with all of your favorite smoking songs. Check out songs by Snoop Dogg, Cypress Hill, Kid Cudi, Willie Nelson, Wiz khalifa, Kotton Mouth Kings, Bob Marley, Sublime, Slightly Stupid, and more! To make it special, pick a favorite and play as the clock strikes midnight! Imagine bringing in the New Year smoking a joint while the whole party sings along to Buffalo Soldier? It would be legendary!
